02 BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Start with your body,
not the label.

Hosiery should feel smooth, secure and easy to move in. A few accurate measurements make choosing much simpler.

Stand naturally, wear light clothing or underwear, and keep the tape comfortably close without pulling it tight. If possible, ask someone to help so the tape stays level.

Good to knowThe chart uses body measurements—not the unstretched dimensions of the garment. Product-page fit and stretch notes always take priority.
03 HOW TO MEASURE

Four points.
One better fit.

Keep the measuring tape parallel to the floor and note each measurement in centimetres or inches.

01

Bust

Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.

02

Waist

Measure around your natural waist—the narrowest point, usually above the navel.

03

Hips

With feet together, measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.

04

Height

Stand barefoot against a wall and measure from the floor to the top of your head.

Choosing stockings?

Also measure around your thigh where the top band will sit. The tape should touch the skin without compressing it.

PANTYHOSE FIT

Think height,
hips and stretch.

Shop pantyhose
01Prioritise height and hipsThese measurements determine whether the gusset and waistband sit correctly.
02Between two sizes?Choose the larger size, especially if you are taller or prefer less compression.
03Expect shaping styles to feel firmerControl-top and sculpting designs have more resistance than everyday sheer styles.
STOCKINGS FIT

Focus on the
top band.

Shop stockings
01Measure where the band will sitWrap the tape around the upper thigh without pressing into the skin.
02Choose comfort over tensionIf your thigh is at the top of a range, size up so the band can lie smooth.
03Check the constructionHold-ups use silicone bands; classic stockings may need a suspender belt for support.
BODYSTOCKINGS FIT

Balance shape
with body length.

Shop bodystockings
01Prioritise height, bust and hipsThe fabric must stretch both vertically and around your body without distortion.
02Allow for torso lengthIf you have a longer torso or fall between sizes, the larger option usually feels better.
03Openwork stretches differentlyFishnet and lace can look compact off the body; ease them on gradually to reveal the pattern.
06 SHEERNESS & STRETCH

Read the
fabric.

Denier describes yarn weight and appearance—not garment size. Stretch and construction also affect how a piece feels.

5–15DEN

Ultra sheer

Lightweight and delicate with a barely-there finish.

20–40DEN

Everyday sheer

A balance of transparency, polish and practical wear.

50–80DEN

Opaque

More coverage with a denser look and substantial feel.

100+DEN

Dense coverage

A full, solid appearance designed for maximum opacity.

STRETCH KEY
Light stretchCloser, more structured feel
High stretchMore adaptable across measurements
ShapingPurposefully firmer compression
07 THE FINAL CHECK

It should feel
effortless.

Your best size should stay in place without pinching, pulling or restricting movement.

  • 01Waistband or top band lies flat
  • 02Fabric is distributed evenly
  • 03Gusset or body sits in the correct position
  • 04Motifs keep their intended shape
  • 05You can sit and move comfortably
Pinching, rolling or pulling?Try the next size up, or choose a style with a higher stretch level.
08 PUT THEM ON WITH CARE

Less pulling.
More wearing.

Fine hosiery lasts longer when it is eased on gradually instead of pulled from the waistband.

  1. 01
    Prepare

Remove rings and bracelets, then smooth any rough nail edges.

  2. 02
    Gather

Roll one leg down gently until you can place your toes into it.

  3. 03
    Ease

Guide the fabric over the heel and up the calf in small sections.

  4. 04
    Balance

Repeat on the other leg, then adjust both sides evenly toward the hips.

09 FIT QUESTIONS

A little more
clarity.

Still unsure? Our team can help you compare a product's stretch and fit notes with your measurements.

Contact us
What if I am between two sizes?

For hosiery, the larger size is usually the more comfortable choice—especially if height, hips or thigh measurement falls into the next range. Check the product fit note for exceptions.

What does “One Size” mean?

It means the fabric has been designed to stretch across a stated measurement range. That range varies by style, so always use the dimensions shown on the individual product page.

Does fishnet fit differently from sheer hosiery?

Yes. Openwork fabric may look very small off the body but expands as it is worn. Ease it on gradually so the pattern remains even and avoid pulling on a single thread.

Why does the top band roll down?

Rolling can mean the band is too tight, sits in the wrong position or has not been distributed evenly. Reposition it on a wider or narrower point of the thigh, or try the next size up.

Can I return an item if the size is wrong?

For hygiene reasons, eligibility may depend on the item being unworn and its hygiene seal remaining intact. Review our Shipping & Returns page before opening or trying on the product.
